Command Palette

The Command Palette is the fastest way to navigate Truetask. Press one keyboard shortcut and you can jump to any board, search every task, open any settings page, or run quick actions — all without touching the mouse.

Opening the Palette

Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) from anywhere in the app. You can also click the search field in the top toolbar.

Press Esc to close the palette without selecting anything.

What You Can Do

Just start typing. The palette sorts results automatically — boards, favorites, cards, and actions all appear side-by-side as you type.

Jump to a Board

Type part of a board name. Boards you're a member of appear at the top.

Open a Favorite Task

Tasks you've favorited (starred) appear in a dedicated section. Favorites load fresh every time the palette opens.

Favoriting a task is the quickest way to keep your most-used work one keystroke away.

Search Every Task

Once you type 2 or more characters, Truetask searches every task title across every board you have access to. Results are debounced and update as you type.

The search is scoped to boards you're a member of — tasks on boards you can't see don't leak into your results.

Open a Setting

If you have admin access, typing settings reveals every settings section. Useful to jump directly to a specific pane like SMTP or Audit Log without clicking through menus.

Run a Quick Action

The Actions section holds quick commands like:

  • Toggle sidebar — collapse or expand the left sidebar
  • Open settings — admin only

Move up and down the results

EscClose the palette

Arrow key navigation loops — pressing down on the last item brings you back to the top.
