Calendar View

The calendar view plots your tasks by date, so you can see what's coming up at a glance and plan accordingly. It works in three layouts: month, week, and day.

Switching Layouts

Three buttons in the toolbar toggle between layouts:

LayoutGood for
MonthA wide view of everything this month — sprint planning, team overview
WeekDay-by-day workload across a 7-day window
DayZoom in on a single day's tasks
  • Today button — jump to today
  • Left / right arrows — move forward or back one month, week, or day
  • The current day is highlighted everywhere it appears

How Tasks Appear

Each task shows up on its due date, or the date range between its start and due dates.

  • Color comes from the task's priority or primary tag
  • Overdue tasks are highlighted in red
  • When a day is crowded, a +N more indicator appears — click it to see everything that day

Dates Truetask uses

  • Both start and due date → task spans the range
  • Only due date → task shows on that day
  • Only start date → task shows on that day
  • Neither → task doesn't appear on the calendar

Creating a Task

Click any empty date cell to create a task with that date pre-filled as the due date. Type a title, press Enter, and it's scheduled.

Rescheduling

Drag a task from one date to another — the due date updates instantly, even on other users' screens. Dragging from the Month view works day-by-day; Week and Day views also support time-of-day placement.

Opening a Task

Click any task to open its detail view in the side panel.

Tips

  • Filters from the board apply here — great for a focused view of "everything due this week assigned to me"
  • The calendar is a different lens on the same data — changes sync live across every view
  • Use it alongside the Timeline view for scheduling (Gantt) and the List view for bulk edits
