Modifier Key Conventions

Truetask maps modifier keys to your platform automatically:

Token in settingsMacWindows / Linux
cmd / commandCmdCtrl
alt / optionOptionAlt
shiftShiftShift
ctrlCtrlCtrl

Note that cmd adapts per-platform (Cmd on Mac, Ctrl elsewhere), while ctrl is always Ctrl regardless of platform. Use cmd for natural cross-platform shortcuts; use ctrl only when you specifically need the Ctrl key on all platforms.

Customizing Shortcuts

To rebind any shortcut:

  1. Open Profile from the user menu
  2. Go to Shortcuts
  3. Click the shortcut you want to change
  4. Press the new key combination
  5. It saves automatically

Tips

  • Most productive combo for newcomers: Cmd/Ctrl+K to open the palette, type the first few letters of a board, press Enter. Fastest way to navigate.
  • Multi-select in List view: Space to select, Shift+/ to extend selection, then bulk-act via the action bar.
