AI assists on tasks
Not every use of AI in Truetask is an agent taking a task. Most of it is small: a sparkle next to a field that drafts something for you, and you keep or change it.
Every assist on this page is governed by two switches. Workspace owners and admins turn them on in Settings > Integrations > AI, under Features. Each person can turn every AI surface off for themselves from the App menu's Features dialog.
The assists

Generating a description replaces it
The description sparkle overwrites whatever is in the field. There is no undo, so copy anything you want to keep first.
Each one is an independent switch, so a workspace can have inline title suggestions and nothing else.
Break a task down
Right-click a task and choose Break down with AI... and the AI proposes sub-tasks. It does not just create them: a review step opens first, where you edit each proposed title and description, pick who does each one, choose the list they land in, and decide whether the parent should be blocked until they are done. "Nothing is saved until you confirm."
The same action is on a pipeline node's menu as Break down with AI, and the sub-tasks it creates join the pipeline.

Starter automations on new boards
Install starter AI automations on new boards is the one opt-in setting in the pane. When it is on, each new board gets a "Hydrate new cards" automation that fills in the description and tags from the task title in a single AI call. Owners can edit or disable it per board.
It is off by default, so new boards do not pick up side effects nobody asked for.
The same node is available by hand: Smart Hydrate "fills in a sparse task from its title: description, tags, priority, estimate and checklist, following your prompt." See AI nodes.
Building with AI
Two places in Truetask let AI build something rather than fill a field, and both land a draft you review.
A board from a description. The new board wizard offers Describe it: "Tell the AI what you need and get a ready-made board." Write what the board should manage, optionally pick from example briefs, tick what to include (forms, AI triage, WIP limits, deadlines, databases and more), and attach spreadsheets or documents. Tables become databases with fields named after your columns and their rows land as records; documents are read as part of the brief. The plan is shown before anything is created, and you can tell the AI what to change and it rewrites the plan.

An automation from a sentence. The automation builder has an assistant: "Describe the automation you want." Proposals land on the canvas as an unsaved draft you edit and save yourself.
Turning it off for yourself
Open the App menu and choose Features under Interface. AI features hides "the agent command center, card AI actions, agent tabs, and every other AI surface", for you only.
"This only changes how things look for you - nothing is switched off for anyone else, and everything keeps working behind the scenes." You can come back and switch it on again at any time.

Turning it off for everyone
Settings > Integrations > AI has a master Enable AI switch above everything else. With it off, "All AI-powered features are turned off for every user in this workspace."
Below it, Features is the per-assist list, so you can keep AI on for agents and automations while switching the sparkles off.
